Back from my holidays. Great trip. Great Company. Fantastic food (as my waistline can testify!)
And back in the real world new challenges are waiting. While I was away a wonderful lady in our congregation died suddenly and unexpectedly. All funerals have their challenges but this one will be a particularly difficult one. The whole congregation - and much of the town - are grieving this lovely lady. And this is my first funeral of someone I knew well enough to consider a friend. I know the parish will need some support to cope with this and I hope I will be able to help with that.
I am glad that I have had a time of rejuvenation and re-inspiration to prepare me for this.
And as much as I have enjoyed my fabulous time away (and I am sure there will be more about that anon) I am glad to be back in the community; and after less than a year it really does feel like my community.
May we all be aware of God's hand holding and guiding us through this difficult time.

The community is enriched by your ministry and it was clear that they felt comforted by you being home to lead them through this crisis. Blessings and strength to you x
